This Catherine Cookson-like film features establishing shots of the South Downs (possibly Cuckmere Haven). The posh house featured was actually Follkington Manor. There are also mentions of Goodwood Racecourse and going down to Shoreham to get a suit.
This was Dirk Bogarde’s first film credit. Interestingly, he often spent school holidays in Lullington, as his family rented a cottage there (Winton Street).
