Roy ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ Clarke tried something different with this modern-day detective drama. Actor David Andrew played the priest turned detective of the title, who then gets involved in solving real crimes. Filmed partly in Hastings. It only lasted one series, perhaps meaning it was just too high concept for those used to old folk descending down hills in bathtubs.
